How To Tell If A Service Is Legitimate Or A Scam

Quick Checklist For Determining If A Service Is Legitimate

1. REFERENCES You should be able to ask for references, and then contact those references to find out it the service is legit and effective.
2. REAL PEOPLE You should be able to speak to a real person with real expertise. Do not just enter your information on a website you haven't verified as legit.
3. RESEARCH  Ask online for feedback from people who have used the service. You'll get honest opinions and help!
4. CONNECTING Look up the company on LinkedIn. Then click on the 'People' tab. Then try connecting with people from the business. If no one responds, it might be a sign that something is fishy.
5. VALUE VS COST Does the offer sound too good to be true? In 99% of those cases, it is a scam. Definitely research them first.
6.WHO IS ACCEPTED  Do they accept EVERYONE who submits to them. e.g. Upload your song, pay us $X and we'll market it to thousands of radio stations. If they don't need to hear you music to determine if the quality is good enough to submit to radio, it's a scam. No reputable company would risk their reputation by pitching songs they never even heard, evaluated and approved.
7. CARTNE VIDEO Check on Cartne.com for a video on that particular kind of scam. We have a dozen videos on avoiding marketing scas, record label scams, bad management agreements and much more.
